Zaiah Burke is an artist that works closely with the team at HeroVillain. We support him and he supports us. Not to mention that his music is actually worth a listen. Here's an interview I had with him recently.

Who is Zaiah Burke???

HV:Hows life growing up in VA?
ZB:It’s been good! With Va so diverse it gives me a lot to write about in my songs.

HV:Being that it’s becoming so cleche to be a rapper, what makes you different?
ZB:Honestly [nothing] makes me different, I’m just out here chasin a dream. I believe I work harder than a lot of others. That’s it. That’s [the] problem, everybody try to be different. Just be yourself and you’ll be respected a lot more.

HV:Who do you think you resemble most as a rapper?
ZB:Wow…I get Lupe a lot! Big Homie is my inspiration and I feel that I relate to KanYe more then I do any other artist.

HV:When did you decide you wanted to rap?
ZB:To be honest, my youngin Jae Aye and I started a group in 2nd grade. That was the first go round! I didn’t get serious until [08].

HV:What is this whole DarkKnight Ent./ 1990 thing?
ZB:Well DarkKnight is the street team I’m on, shoutout to them. 1990 is my shit. That’s the year I was born. I represent for anybody born in 90 and surrounding.

HV:Where do you see yourself in 4 years?
ZB:#1 out of my mother house! Hopefully a famous rapper, Grammy Award Winner, Millionaire, successful, and I don’t know whatever else is in store for me.

Once Again, It's Mixtape Monday. It's been a while so i had to make sure i had a jive fresh candidate lined up for today's post;fortunately i didn't have to search to hard. His name is Drique London and his passion is rap. This Is London's 2nd Mixtape entitled The Unkool Vol.1 and my favorite so far. 5.Influences? I got a Few influences Im a huge Wale fan man him , snoop dog, Jay-z , chuck Inglish but the 2 guys that really got me focused 2 do it was Wale and Chuck Inglish, because i respect there movement. I know its ji crazy cause they new to the game but them some focused cats but snoop ,jay-z ,dmx, early wayne those the cats i grew up on.

Twitter Tuesday's: DJ Vic Mase (80's Baby)

Once again I gotta put the spotlight on a fellow DMV move maker. Today's Twitter Tuesday Feature's The Fresh Prince of VA DJ Vic Mase born Victor Mason. Me and Vic met at Tommy Tech. After seeing each other around campus a couple times and realizing we ran with some of the same crews we formed a friendship of our own. He was born in 1988,but his vocabulary and style reflect the whole 80's decade. His Father Victor Mason Jr. aka DJ V-Nice was a DJ and currently is a big DJ in Vegas. He started busting the one's and two's as a freshman at VCU. It was here along with the help of some supportive people like his mentor DJ Rayvon (A well known college DJ in VA,who supplied Vic with his first mixer and records to practice on)he begin to master his craft. Soon he became one of the 757's most well known disc jockey's. The sky is the limit and DJ Vic Mase will be a house hold name before the record stops.
